Two new species of Cardicola Short, 1953 (Aporocotylidae) are described from fishes from the Great Barrier Reef (GBR), Australia. Cardicola abu sp. n. infects the Whitley’s sergeant Abudefduf whitleyi Allen & Robertson (Pomacentridae), and is described from Wistari Reef of the Capricorn-Bunker Group, on the southern GBR. Cardicola yuelao sp. n. infects the halfmoon triggerfish Sufflamen chrysopterum Bloch & Schneider (Balistidae), and is described from off Lizard Island, on the far northern GBR… CONTINUE READING
