Two new adjacent bis-THF annonaceous acetogenins, 9-hydroxyfolianin (1) and folianin B (2), together with two known acetogenins, asimicin (3) and bullatacin (4), significantly bioactives in brine shrimp lethality test, were isolated from seeds of Annona cornifolia A. St. Hil (Annonaceae). Their structures were elucidated by NMR and ESI-MS analysis, and relative configurations were established. The absolute configuration around the THF rings of 1 was defined by Mosher esters methodology and…

Annonaceous acetogenins from the seeds of Annona squamosa

Abstract Two new annonaceous acetogenins squamocin P (2) and annosquatin III (3) and one new ACG precursor dieporeticenin B (1) along with five known precursors (4–8) were isolated from the seeds of

New annonaceous acetogenins from Rollinia mucosa.

Four new compounds, a mixture of 20,23-cis-2,4-trans-bullatalicinone and 20,25-c Is2,3-cIs-4-Trans-Bullatalic inone, along with eight known acetogenins, were isolated from an ethyl acetate extract of the unripe fruits of Rollinia mucosa, determined on the basis of spectral data and chemical evidence.

Annonaceous acetogenins: recent progress.

The Annonaceous acetogenins are promising new antitumor and pesticidal agents that are found only in the plant family Annonaceae and exhibit their potent bioactivities through depletion of ATP levels via inhibiting complex I of mitochondria and inhibiting the NADH oxidase of plasma membranes of tumor cells.

Squamotacin: an annonaceous acetogenin with cytotoxic selectivity for the human prostate tumor cell line (PC-3).

The bark extracts of Annona squamosa yielded a new bioactive acetogenin, squamotacin, which showed cytotoxic selectively for the human prostate tumor cell line (PC-3), with a potency of over 100 million times that of Adriamycin.

Additional bioactive compounds and trilobacin, a novel highly cytotoxic acetogenin, from the bark of Asimina triloba.

Fractionation of the EtOH extract of the bark of Asimina triloba has led to the isolation and structural elucidation of a novel highly cytotoxic Annonaceous acetogenin, trilobacin.

Determination of Absolute Configuration of Stereogenic Carbinol Centers in Annonaceous Acetogenins by 1H- and 19F-NMR Analysis of Mosher Ester Derivatives

The absolute configuration of the stereogenic carbinol centers in nine annonaceous acetogenins has been determined by careful 1 H- and 19 F-NMR analysis of (S)- and (R)-Mosher ester

Biological screening of Annonaceous Brazilian Medicinal Plants using Artemia salina (brine shrimp test).

All of the Annonaceous species tested showed good larvicidal activity as compared to a reference compounds and literature data.

Antineoplastic agents. 558. Ampelocissus sp. cancer cell growth inhibitory constituents.

An investigation of the Phillippine Ampelocissus sp. roots for cancer cell growth inhibitory components led to the isolation of a new acetogenin characterized as 22-epicalamistrin (1) employing
