This study shows that a single atom in a high-finesse resonator can be used for the controlled, quantum-coherent generation of entangled radiation, in the optical and in the microwave regime. This goal is attained by utilizing quantum correlations between the motional sidebands of the center of mass motion of a trapped atom in the Lamb-Dicke regime.
