When I was in Liverpool delivering the Sherrington lectures in November of 1966, Professor Gregory showed me a copy of a university brochure giving an account of the opening of the Thompson-Yates Laboratories in 1898. The physiological laboratories of this building were constructed for Professor Sherrington (as he then was) and he played a very active role in their planning.
