. In this paper the two-dimensional Dirac operator with a general hermitian δ -shell interaction supported on a straight line is introduced as a self-adjoint operator and its spectral properties are investigated in detail. In particular, it is demonstrated that the singularly continuous spectrum is always empty and that by switching a certain δ -shell interaction on, it is possible to generate an eigenvalue in the gap of the spectrum of the free operator or to partially or even fully close the…

Boundary triples and Weyl functions for Dirac operators with singular interactions

In this article we develop a systematic approach to treat Dirac operators Aη,τ,λ with singular electrostatic, Lorentz scalar, and anomalous magnetic interactions of strengths η, τ, λ ∈ R,

Dirac operators with Lorentz scalar shell interactions

This paper deals with the massive three-dimensional Dirac operator coupled with a Lorentz scalar shell interaction supported on a compact smooth surface. The rigorous definition of the operator

Spectral Transition for Dirac Operators with Electrostatic δ -Shell Potentials Supported on the Straight Line.

In this note the two dimensional Dirac operator A η with an electrostatic δ -shell interaction of strength η ∈ R supported on a straight line is studied. We observe a spectral transition in the sense

One-dimensional Dirac operators with zero-range interactions: Spectral, scattering, and topological results

The spectral and scattering theory for 1-dimensional Dirac operators with mass $m$ and with zero-range interactions are fully investigated. Explicit expressions for the wave operators and for the

Dirac operators with a spherically symmetric δ-shell interaction

Dirac operators with a contact interaction supported by a sphere are studied restricting attention to the operators that are rotationally and space‐reflection symmetric. The partial wave operators

Approximation of one-dimensional relativistic point interactions by regular potentials revised

We show that the one-dimensional Dirac operator with quite general point interaction may be approximated in the norm resolvent sense by the Dirac operator with a scaled regular potential of the form

Spontaneous Edge Currents for the Dirac Equation in Two Space Dimensions

Spontaneous edge currents are known to occur in systems of two space dimensions in a strong magnetic field. The latter creates chirality and determines the direction of the currents. Here we show

The relativistic spherical δ -shell interaction in R 3 : Spectrum and approximation

This note revolves on the free Dirac operator in R 3 and its δ -shell interaction with electrostatic potentials supported on a sphere. On one hand, we characterize the eigenstates of those couplings
