This paper proposes and investigates a novel code-division multiple-access (CDMA) system. This two-layer spreading CDMA (TLS-CDMA) system can combat multiple-access interference (MAI) and multipath interference (MPI) simultaneously and effectively in a multiuser scenario over frequency-selective fading channels.
