This paper proposes two efficient and easy-to-use error mitigation solutions to the problem of three-dimensional (3-D) angle-of-arrival (AOA) source localization in the mixed line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) indoor environments. A weighted linear least squares estimator is derived first for the LOS AOA components in terms of the direction vectors of arrival, albeit in a sub-optimal manner. Next, data selection exploiting the sum of squared residuals is carried out to discard the… Expand

Joint Source and Sensor Localization by Angles of Arrival
This paper explores the use of angle of arrival (AOA) observations instead for the JSSL problem that does not require synchronization, and develops the algorithms for the refinement of AOA observations, the estimation of TOAs between the sources and sensors and the closed-form solution of their positions. Adaptive simulated annealing (ASA): Lessons learned
Adaptive s imulated annealing (ASA) is a global optimization algorithm based on an associated proof that the parameter space can be sampled much more ef ficiently than by using other previousExpand
A Linear Estimator for Network Localization Using Integrated RSS and AOA Measurements
This letter addresses the problem of simultaneous localization of multiple targets in three-dimensional cooperative wireless sensor networks by exploiting the convenient nature of spherical representation of the considered problem, the measurement models are linearized and a sub-optimal estimator is formulated. An Iteratively Reweighted Instrumental-Variable Estimator for Robust 3-D AOA Localization in Impulsive Noise
A new iteratively reweighted instrumental-variable estimator (IRIVE) is proposed based on the exploitation of instrumental variables that is observed to produce nearly unbiased estimates with mean squared error performance very close to the Cramér–Rao lower bound. Expand

Maximum Correntropy Criterion for Robust TOA-Based Localization in NLOS Environments
Simulation and experimental results show the competence of the presented scheme in outperforming several state-of-the-art approaches in terms of positioning accuracy, especially in scenarios where the percentage of NLOS paths is not large enough. Expand
Robust AOA-Based Source Localization in Correlated Measurement Noise via Nonconvex Sparse Optimization
To maintain the total convexity of the cost function while using the nonconvex penalty, the correlation matrix weighted cost by generalized minimax concave (GMC) function is proposed and the alternating direction forward-backward splitting algorithm (ADFBS) is proposed to estimate outliers and source position simultaneously.
