This thesis is concerned with the study of scattering amplitudes in four-dimensional conformal field theories, more particularly the N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory. We study this theory first at tree level by using twistor space techniques and review the twistor string models that were proposed to describe it. Then, we turn to the issue of iteration relations and all loop ansatze for scattering amplitudes. We review the unitarity method for computing scattering amplitudes and discuss the Wilson…

Deformed Yangian invariants in N = 4 super-Yang–Mills theory

Tree-level scattering amplitudes in maximally supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory in four dimensions are invariant under a large symmetry algebra known as the Yangian of the superconformal algebra

The Imaginary Part of the N = 4 Super-Yang-Mills Two-Loop Six-Point MHV Amplitude in Multi-Regge Kinematics

The precise form of the multi-Regge asymptotics of the two-loop six-point MHV amplitude in N = 4 Super-Yang-Mills theory has been a subject of recent controversy. In this paper we utilize the

Perturbative Gauge Theory as a String Theory in Twistor Space

Perturbative scattering amplitudes in Yang-Mills theory have many unexpected properties, such as holomorphy of the maximally helicity violating amplitudes. To interpret these results, we Fourier

Conformal Supergravity in Twistor-String Theory

Conformal supergravity arises in presently known formulations of twistor-string theory either via closed strings or via gauge-singlet open strings. We explore this sector of twistor-string theory,

Planar amplitudes in maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory.

TLDR
This work demonstrates that, in the planar ('t Hooft) limit, higher-loop contributions can be expressed entirely in terms of one-loop amplitudes and conjecture an analogous relation for n-point amplitudes.

Supersymmetric gauge theories and the AdS / CFT correspondence

In these lecture notes we first assemble the basic ingredients of supersymmetric gauge theories (particularly N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory), supergravity, and superstring theory. Brane solutions are

Planar scattering amplitudes from Wilson loops

We derive an expression for parton scattering amplitudes of planar gauge theory in terms of sums of Wilson loops. We study in detail the example of Yang-Mills theory with an adjoint Higgs field. The

Lectures on Twistor Strings and Perturbative Yang-Mills Theory

Recently, Witten proposed a topological string theory in twistor space that is dual to a weakly coupled gauge theory. In this lectures we will discuss aspects of the twistor string theory. Along the

Maximally Supersymmetric Planar Yang-Mills Amplitudes at Five Loops

We present an Ansatz for the planar five-loop four-point amplitude in maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in terms of loop integrals. This Ansatz exploits the recently observed correspondence
