OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy of twice-weekly maintenance therapy with sulfadiazine-pyrimethamine to prevent toxoplasmic encephalitis relapse in patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). DESIGN Randomized, open, multicenter trial.
