Through the constant growth of the size and complexity of software systems, software engineering is—now more than ever—a challenging field. To help the developers, new development processed have been invented: the Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) and Extreme Programming (XP). Both turn to modeling to raise the level of abstraction and to increase programmer efficiency.
