The quantity and molar ratio of the three troponin subunits to actin were determined in rabbit psoas muscle, muscle homogenates (800 X g pellet), and purified myofibrils. Proteins were separated by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate. The quantities of the separated proteins were determined directly from the gel slices by amino acid analysis after correction for losses and background.
