A new nortriterpene saponin, 3-O-β-d-glucuronopyranosyl-30-norolean-12,20(29)-dien-23-oxo-28-oic acid, namely bigelovii D (11), was isolated from the hydroalcoholic extract of herbs of Salicornia bigelovii along with 10 known saponins (1–10). Their chemical structures were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analyses including two-dimensional NMR and a comparison with literature data. Some of these compounds showed potent antifungal activities in vitro. Compounds 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11…

30-Noroleanane triterpenoid saponins from Salicornia europaea Linn. and their chemotaxonomic significance
TLDR
The chemical structures were established by detailed analysis of the MS and NMR spectroscopic data or comparison with literature data and the chemotaxonomic significance of 30-noroleanane triterpenoids was discussed in the family Chenopodiaceae and Amaranthaceae.
PPARα and γ Activation Effects of New Nor-triterpenoidal Saponins from the Aerial Parts of Anabasis articulata.
TLDR
Results suggest that the reported antidiabetic action of the isolated saponins may not solely involve the activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ, and may be beneficial in the cardiovascular condition that is closely associated with diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
