Singlet fission is commonly defined to involve a process by which an overall singlet state with local triplet structure spin-decoheres into two triplet states, thereby completing the fission process. This process, often defined in loose terms involving the multiplicity of the overall state, is investigated here using a uniform Heisenberg spin-chain subject to a dephasing environmental interaction. We introduce new results from quantum information theory which enables the quantification of…

Higher-energy triplet-pair states in polyenes and their role in intramolecular singlet fission
Probing extended polyene systems with energy in excess of the bright state ($1^1B_u^+$/$S_2$) band edge generates triplets via singlet fission. This process is not thought to involve the
Unconventional singlet fission materials.
TLDR
This paper focuses on uncommon SF-scaffolds and outline requirements as well as strategies to expand the chromophore pool of SF-materials, which are still limited.
Optical Projection and Spatial Separation of Spin Entangled Triplet-Pairs from the S 1 (2 1A g -) State of Pi-Conjugated Systems
The S1 (21Ag-) state is an optically dark state of natural and synthetic pi-conjugated materials that can play a critical role in optoelectronic processes such as, energy harvesting, photoprotection

Triplet Pair States in Singlet Fission.
TLDR
The challenges in treating singlet fission beyond the dimer approximation, in understanding the often neglected roles of delocalization on singlets fission rates, and in realizing the much lauded goal of increasing solar energy conversion efficiencies with singlet Fission chromophores are discussed.

TLDR
The eigenstates constituting the manifold of 16 bimolecular pair excitations and their relative energies in the weak-coupling regime are reported and it is shown that triplet pair states can be separated by a triplet-triplet energy-transfer mechanism to give a separated, yet entangled triplet Pair (1)[T···T].
Triplet-Pair States in Organic Semiconductors.
TLDR
The properties of triplet-pair states are reviewed, from first principles to recent experimental results, thanks both to its central role in the resurgent field of singlet fission and to its implication in a host of exotic new photophysical behaviors.
Theoretical Modeling of Singlet Fission.
TLDR
A review of the most recent advances with respect to the theoretical and computational studies on the singlet fission phenomenon revisits important aspects regarding electronic states involved in the process, the evaluation of fission rates and interstate couplings, and the advances in the design and characterization of single fission compounds and materials.
Heavy-atom effects on intramolecular singlet fission in a conjugated polymer.
TLDR
The influence of heavy atoms within the main backbone of polythienylenevinylene and its selenophene and tellurophene derivatives is explored to investigate the potential of heteroatom substitution as a selective tool in singlet fission research.

Harnessing singlet exciton fission to break the Shockley–Queisser limit
Singlet exciton fission is a carrier multiplication process in organic semiconductors that generates two electron–hole pairs for each photon absorbed. Singlet fission occurs on sub-100 fs timescales
Measuring Quantum Coherence with Entanglement.
TLDR
This work demonstrates the usefulness of the approach by proving that the fidelity-based geometric measure of coherence is a full convex coherence monotone, and deriving a closed formula for it on arbitrary single-qubit states.
Operational one-to-one mapping between coherence and entanglement measures
We establish a general operational one-to-one mapping between coherence measures and entanglement measures: Any entanglement measure of bipartite pure states is the minimum of a suitable coherence
External Quantum Efficiency Above 100% in a Singlet-Exciton-Fission–Based Organic Photovoltaic Cell
Splitting Singlets Solar cell efficiency is limited because light at wavelengths shorter than the cell's absorption threshold does not channel any of its excess energy into the generated electricity.
