Triiodothyronine affects the alternative splicing of thyroid hormone receptor alpha mRNA.


The c-erbAalpha gene encodes two thyroid hormone receptors, TRalpha1 and TRalpha2, that arise from alternative splicing of the TRalpha pre-mRNA.
