Recent scientific advances have revealed the identity of several enzymes involved in the synthesis, storage and catabolism of intracellular neutral lipid storage droplets. An enzyme that hydrolyzes stored triacylglycerol (TG), triacylglycerol hydrolase (TGH), was purified from porcine, human and murine liver microsomes.
