The dynamic viscosities, the activation energies of the viscous flow Eηa, and the mass densities ϱ were measured for the binary systems 12-crown-4/D2O, 12-crown-4/ethylene glycol, 12-crown-4/methanol, 15-crown-5/D2O, 15-crown-5/ethylene glycol, and 15-crown-5/methanol as a function of temperature T and mole fraction x1 of the crown ether. – Mixtures with bifunctional “alcohols” (D2O, HOCH2CH2OH) showed “broad maxima” in their isotherms η(x1, T = const) and Eηa(x1, T = const), respectively… CONTINUE READING
