A problem similar to the classical Landau-Zener problem of calculating the rate of transitions between two intersecting levels has been formulated and solved for a spherical symmetric, threedimensional diffusive system. The only assumption is that the extent of the transition region is small compared with the radius of the quasi-crossing sphere, an analytic expression covering the whole range of parameter values is derived.
