Homogentisate prenyltransferase (HPT) is an important enzyme involved in the α-tocopherol (vitamin E) biosynthetic pathway of all plant taxa. Tocopherol biosynthesis and chlorophyll degradation are related, but more information is needed to explain their relationship.
