Here we extend the theory of space-time or event cloaking into that based on the carpet or ground-plane reflective surface. Further, by recasting and generalizing a scalar acoustic wave model into a new mathematically covariant form, we also show how transformation theories for optics and acoustics can be combined into a single prescription. The single prescription, however, still respects the fundamental differences between electromagnetic and acoustic waves, which then provide us with an…

On Spacetime Transformation Optics: Temporal and Spatial Dispersion
The electromagnetic implementation of cloaking, the hiding of objects from sight by diverting and reassembling illuminating electromagnetic fields has now been with us ten years, while the notion of
Roadmap on transformation optics
TLDR
The contributors to this Roadmap, who are all renowned practitioners or inventors of transformation optics, will give their perspectives into the field's status and future development.
Impedance rescaling and scattering from transformation optics devices
I investigate the scattering properties of transformation devices as the impedance matching criteria are altered. Starting from an analysis of traditional impedance calculations, we see how to
Temporal boundaries in electromagnetic materials
Temporally modulated optical media are important in both abstract and applied situations, such as spacetime transformation optics, relativistic laser–plasma interactions, and dynamic metamaterials.
Temporal cloaking for data suppression and retrieval
Recent research on time cloaking has revealed a fascinating approach to hide temporal events from an interrogating optical field, by opening up and subsequently closing intensity gaps in a probe
Space-time cloaking through a chiral atomic medium
The birefringence characteristics of reflection and transmission of light pulse are explored in chiral medium driving by two probe electric and magnetic fields, while four control fields. The
Transformation Optics: From Classic Theory and Applications to its New Branches
TLDR
The basic theory of transformation optics, a new way to design optical devices with extraordinary predesigned functions such as invisibility cloaks and electromagnetic wormholes, is reviewed.
Electromagnetism, axions, and topology: A first-order operator approach to constitutive responses provides greater freedom
We show how the standard constitutive assumptions for the macroscopic Maxwell equations can be relaxed. This is done by arguing that the Maxwellian excitation fields (D, H) should be dispensed with,
