Five fish cell lines were tested for their ability to be transduced by Ac-CAlacZ, a recombinant baculovirus that is capable of expressing a beta-galactosidase reporter gene from the CAG promoter (consisting of a cytomegalovirus enhancer element, a chicken actin promoter and rabbit beta-globin termination sequences). TO (Tilapia ovary), EPC (carp), CHH-1 (Chum salmon heart fibroblast) and CHSE-214 (chinook salmon embryo) cells were transducible, as demonstrated by an in situ beta-galactosidase…

Efficient gene delivery into fish cells by an improved recombinant baculovirus.
Efficient and Stable Delivery of Multiple Genes to Fish Cells by a Modified Recombinant Baculovirus System
TLDR
A recombinant baculovirus containing the dual-promoter cytomegalovirus and white spot syndrome virus immediate-early gene 1 (ie1) (WSSV ie1) and four transcription factors for induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) was constructed and transduced into ZF4 cells, and these exogenous genes were simultaneously delivered and transcribed efficiently.
Transgene expression in Penaeus monodon cells: evaluation of recombinant baculoviral vectors with shrimp specific hybrid promoters
TLDR
The results indicate that the recombinant baculovirus with shrimp specific viral promoters (hybrid) can be employed for delivery of foreign genes to shrimp cells for in vitro transformation.
Highly efficient baculovirus-mediated gene transfer into rat chondrocytes.
TLDR
Baculovirus is a safe and highly efficient gene delivery vehicle into rat chondrocytes and transduced cells could secrete articular cartilage-specific type II collagen and glycosaminoglycan as well as mock-transduces cells, confirming that normal differentiation state of rat chonds is retained upon bacULovirus transduction.
Mos1 transposon-based transformation of fish cell lines using baculoviral vectors.
Investigation of optimal transduction conditions for baculovirus‐mediated gene delivery into mammalian cells
TLDR
The proposed transduction protocol not only represented a simpler approach, but also considerably reduced possible virus inactivation during ultracentrifugation, thus making it easier to convert the baculovirus/mammalian cell system to a tool for eukaryotic protein production on a larger scale.

Transient and stable gene expression in mammalian cells transduced with a recombinant baculovirus vector.
TLDR
Stably transduced derivatives have been selected from a substantial number of different cell types, suggesting that stable lines can be derived from any cell type that exhibits transient expression.
Efficient gene transfer into various mammalian cells, including non-hepatic cells, by baculovirus vectors.
TLDR
The results suggest that the baculovirus vector is a good tool for gene delivery into various mammalian cells in order to study the function of foreign genes.
A Cell Line Derived from Tilapia Ovary
TLDR
An epitheloid morphology cell line designated TO-2 was established from ovary of healthy adult tilapia hybrid using Leibovitz's L-15 medium with 10% fetal calf serum at 31°C and demonstrated to be free of bacterial, fungal and mycoplasma contaminations.
Efficient transduction of mammalian cells by a recombinant baculovirus having the vesicular stomatitis virus G glycoprotein.
TLDR
It is provided evidence that VSV G protein may enhance transduction by increasing the efficiency of escape of baculovirus from intracellular vesicles rather than by increasing cell binding or uptake of the virus.

Characterization of cell-surface determinants important for baculovirus infection.
TLDR
Inhibition with purified lipids and susceptibility to the mutant CHO hamster cell lines deficient in phospholipids synthesis suggest that the interaction of gp64 and phospholIPids on the cell surface might play an important role in baculovirus infection into mammalian cells.
