Abstract. Regulation of transcription of the Escherichia coli moe operon, which codes for proteins connecting molybdate metabolism, molybdopterin synthesis, and apomolybdoenzyme synthesis, was investigated. Expression of the moe operon was independent of genes coding for molybdate transport and Mo-cofactor biosynthesis.
