Enhanced c-myc oncogene expression associated with peptide mitogen-stimulated cell growth is primarily a result of a post-transcriptional event involving increased mRNA stability. We have recently shown that estradiol stimulates c-myc expression in estrogen receptor-positive human breast cancer cells.
