The template strand of the URA3 gene in the minichromosome YRpTRURAP is repaired of UV-induced cyclobutyl pyrimidine dimers (PD) much more efficiently than the nontemplate strand in growth-arrested Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells (Smerdon, M.
