Older patients suffering severe heart failure related to aortic stenosis (AS) undergo transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), owing to their high surgical risk. The diagnosis is made based on echocardiographic examination, but may require a multimodality imaging approach in patients with low gradients.
