The need for a robust model for predicting the value of condominiums and houses are becoming more apparent as further evidence of systematic errors in existing models are presented. Traditional valuation methods fail to produce good predictions of condominium sales prices and systematic patterns in the errors linked to for example the repeat sales methodology and the hedonic pricing model have been pointed out by papers referenced in this thesis. This inability can lead to monetary problems for…
Learning Real Estate Automated Valuation Models from Heterogeneous Data Sources
TLDR
A Web data acquisition methodology, and a Machine Learning model that can be used to automatically evaluate real estate properties, applicable to the whole Italian territory, and initially trained on a data set of individual homes located in the city of Turin.
A Study on Text Classification Methods and Text Features
TLDR
This thesis attempts to investigate the performance of multiple classifiers depending on the features that are used, the type of classes to classify and the optimization of said classifiers.

Predicting Housing Value : Attribute Selection and Dependence Modelling Utilising the Gamma Test
TLDR
It is demonstrated that the Gamma Test (GT) was of great utility in facilitating a GA based approach to extracting a sound predictive model from a large number of inputs in a data-point sparse real-world application.
The impact of crime on apartment prices: evidence from stockholm, sweden
Abstract. This study uses data of about 9,000 apartment sales in Stockholm, Sweden, to assess the impact of crime on property prices. The study employs hedonic pricing modelling to estimate the
Regression Conformal Prediction with Nearest Neighbours
TLDR
This paper defines six novel nonconformity measures based on the k-Nearest Neighbours Regression algorithm and develops the corresponding CPs following both the original (transductive) and the inductive CP approaches.
Theory for Real Estate Valuation : An Alternative Way to Teach Real Estate Price Estimation Methods
Although people often talk as if theory and practice are different things, as in “that is only theoretical,” nothing is more practical than a good theory. Theory helps make sense of complex
Inductive Confidence Machines for Regression
TLDR
The inductive approach described in this paper may be the only option available when dealing with large data sets and is much faster than the existing transductive techniques.
A note on the Gamma test
This note describes a simple technique, the Gamma (or Near Neighbour) test, which in many cases can be used to considerably simplify the design process of constructing a smooth data model such as a
Improving neural networks by preventing co-adaptation of feature detectors
When a large feedforward neural network is trained on a small training set, it typically performs poorly on held-out test data. This "overfitting" is greatly reduced by randomly omitting half of the
