SETTING Twenty-three Gambian villages. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the feasibility of involving traditional healers in tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment in The Gambia. DESIGN Twenty-eight traditional healers were educated in the recognition of signs and symptoms of tuberculosis and indications for referral.
