The Enugu Formation is a member of the Nkporo Group, and forms part of the basal stratigraphic unit of the Anambra Basin in south-eastern Nigeria. The Enugu Formation has been the subject of many studies concerning stratigraphy [1], depositional environments [2; Onuigbo et al. [3], organic geochemistry [4-6], paleoecology [7], palynology [7-9] and ichnology [10]. Nwajide & Reijers [2] were the first to document the presence of some ichnofossils such as Planolites and Thalassinoides in the… Expand

GEOLOGY AND DEPOSITIONAL ENVIRONMENT OF CAMPANO-MAASTRICHTIAN SEDIMENTS IN THE ANAMBRA BASIN, SOUTHEASTERN NIGERIA: EVIDENCE FROM FIELD RELATIONSHIP AND SEDIMENTOLOGICAL STUDY
The study area lies within the Anambra Basin and it is made up of Enugu Shale, Mamu Formation, Ajali Sandstone, and Nsukka Formation. This study aimed at determining the geology and depositionalExpand
Paleoecology of Enugu and Mamu formations in Anambra Basin,Southeastern Nigeria
Paleoecology of the Enugu and the Mamu Formations was studied based on microfloral and ichnofossil assemblages preserved in the sedimentary units of the formations. The non marine microfloral isExpand
