Toxicity of 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) and dopamine were studied in cultures of dissociated fetal rat mesencephalic cells. To assess survival and function of dopaminergic cells we quantified the number of tyrosine hydroxylase-positive cells and measured dopamine uptake.
