A bstractWithin a generalized parton model approach, with inclusion of spin and intrinsic transverse momentum effects, we show how the latest, highly precise, midrapidity data on the transverse single spin asymmetry measured in pp → π0X by the PHENIX Collaboration at RHIC [1], can be used to get a first estimate on the still poorly known gluon Sivers distribution. To this end we also adopt the present information on the quark Sivers functions, as extracted from semi-inclusive deeply inelastic…

Accessing the gluon Sivers function at a future electron-ion collider

In this work, we present a systematic study on the feasibility of probing the largely unexplored transverse momentum dependent gluon Sivers function (GSF) in open charm production, high p$_T$ charged

Process dependence of the gluon Sivers function in inclusive $pp$ collisions: phenomenology

Within the so-called color gauge invariant generalized parton model, a TMD scheme including initial- (ISI) and final-state (FSI) interactions, we present a phenomenological analysis of available SSA

Measuring Gluon Sivers Function at a Future Electron-Ion Collider

In this work, we present a systematic study on the feasibility of probing the largely unexplored gluon Sivers function (GSF) based on the open charm production, charged dihadron and dijet method at a

Gluon Sivers function and transverse single spin asymmetries in e+p↑→γ+X

We present estimates of transverse single-spin asymmetry in prompt photon production in the scattering of low virtuality photons off a polarized proton target and discuss the possibility of using

Investigating the transverse single spin asymmetry in the inelastic J/Ψ photoproduction in p↑p and p↑A collisions

In this paper we propose to investigate the transverse single spin asymmetry in the inelastic $J/\Psi$ photoproduction in $p^\uparrow p$ and $p^\uparrow A$ collisions at RHIC energies. At leading

Open Charm Hadroproduction as a Probe of Gluon Sivers Function

Open charm production in the scattering of electrons or unpolarized protons against transversely polarized protons offers a promising probe of the gluon Sivers function (GSF) . We present estimates

Low-Virtuality Leptoproduction of Open-Charm as a Probe of the Gluon Sivers Function

We propose low-virtuality leptoproduction of open-charm, $$p^\uparrow l\rightarrow D^0+X$$p↑l→D0+X, as a probe of the gluon Sivers function (GSF). At leading-order, this process directly probes the

Probing the gluon Sivers function through direct photon production at RHIC

We study the production of prompt-photons at RHIC with a view to obtain information on the gluon Sivers function (GSF). At RHIC energy ($\sqrt{s}=200$ GeV), the Compton process, $gq\to\gamma q$

TMDs and SSAs in hadronic interactions

Abstract. We present an overview on the current experimental and phenomenological status of transverse single-spin asymmetries (tSSAs) in proton-proton collisions. In particular, we focus on large-pT

Constraints on the gluon Sivers distribution via transverse single spin asymmetries at midrapidity in p(transv. polarized) p -> pi^0 X processes at BNL RHIC

We consider the recent RHIC data on the transverse single spin asymmetry (SSA) A_N, measured in p(transv. polarized) p -> pi^0 X processes at mid-rapidity by the PHENIX collaboration. The measurement
