We present BV photometry for 54 variables in the metal-rich inner halo globular cluster NGC6723. With the discovery of new RR Lyrae variables (RRLs), we obtain = 0.541 +/- 0.066 and = 0.292 +/- 0.030 day, n(c)/n(ab+c) = 0.167, and _int = 15.459 +/- 0.055. We carry out the Fourier decomposition analysis and obtain [Fe/H]_ZW = -1.23 +/- 0.11 and E(B-V) = 0.063 +/- 0.015 for NGC 6723. By calibrating the zero-point from the recent absolute trigonometric parallax measurements for RR Lyr, we derive…

Multiple stellar populations of globular clusters from homogeneous Ca-Cn photometry. II. M5 (NGC 5904) and a new filter system
Using our ingeniously designed new filter systems, we investigate the multiple stellar populations of the RGB and AGB in the GC M5. Our results are the following. (1) Our cn_jwl index accurately
Multiple Stellar Populations of Globular Clusters from Homogenous Ca by Photometry I. M22 (NGC 6656)
We investigate the multiple stellar populations in one of peculiar globular clusters (GCs) M22 using new ground-based wide-field Ca by and HST/WFC3 photometry with equivalent passbands, confirming
Chemical abundances in the metal-intermediate GC NGC 6723
We have performed a detailed spectral analysis of the inner halo Galactic globular cluster (GC) NGC 6723 using high-resolution (R${\approx }$ 22 000–48 000) spectra for for 11 red giant branch

We present a multiple stellar population (MSP) study of the globular cluster (GC) NGC~6752. We show that our new photometric CN index accurately traces the CN and the nitrogen abundances in cool
Characteristics of bright ab-type RR Lyrae stars from the ASAS and WASP surveys
In this article, we present results based on high-density, high-precision Wide-Angle Search for Planets (WASP) light curves supplemented with lower-precision photometry from the All-Sky Automated
High resolution spectroscopic analysis of seven giants in the bulge globular cluster NGC 6723
Globular clusters associated with the Galactic bulge are important tracers of stellar populations in the inner Galaxy. High resolution analysis of stars in these clusters allows us to characterize
APOGEE discovery of a chemically atypical star disrupted from NGC 6723 and captured by the Milky Way bulge
The central (‘bulge’) region of the Milky Way is teeming with a significant fraction of mildly metal-deficient stars with atmospheres that are strongly enriched in cyanogen (12C14N). Some of these
Exploring the crowded central region of ten Galactic globular clusters using EMCCDs - Variable star searches and new discoveries
Aims. We aim to obtain time-series photometry of the very crowded central regions of Galactic globular clusters; to obtain better angular resolution thanhas been previously achieved with conventional
On the metallicity distribution of the peculiar globular cluster M22
In our previous study, we showed that the peculiar globular cluster (GC) M22 contains two distinct stellar populations, namely the Ca-w and Ca-s groups with different physical properties, having
Star Formation History of the Milky Way Halo Traced by the Oosterhoff Dichotomy Among Globular Clusters
In our recent investigation of the Oosterhoff dichotomy in the multiple population paradigm, we have suggested that the RR Lyrae variables in the globular clusters (GCs) of Oosterhoff groups I, II,

The Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment: Analysis of the Bulge RR Lyrae Population from the OGLE-III Data
We have analyzed the data on 16,836 RR Lyrae (RR Lyr) variables observed toward the Galactic bulge during the third phase of the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE-III), which took place
A Detailed Analysis of Double-Mode RR Lyrae Stars: Further Support for a Brighter Luminosity Scale
In order to derive the physical parameters of double-mode RR Lyrae stars in the Galactic globular clusters M15, M68, and IC4499, we fully utilize all observables (periods, apparent magnitudes, and
RR Lyrae Stars in Galactic Globular Clusters. II. A Theoretical Approach to Variables in M3
We present predicted relations connecting pulsational (period and amplitude of pulsation) and evolutionary (mass, absolute magnitude, and color) parameters, as based on a wide set of convective
BVI Time-Series Data of the Galactic Globular Cluster NGC 3201. I. RR Lyrae Stars
We present Johnson BV- and Kron-Cousins I-band time-series data collected over three consecutive nights in a region of 13 arcmin2 centered on the Galactic globular cluster (GGC) NGC 3201. The time
Deep multicolor CCD photometry of the globular cluster NGC 6723
We have obtained CCD UBVRI photometry of 3620 stars in the globular cluster NGC 6723, one of the few globular clusters with a horizontal branch well- populated on both sides of the instability strip.
Evidence for an Overluminosity of the Variable Star RR Lyrae, and a Revised Distance to the LMC
We use theoretical models to establish a tight relationship for the absolute magnitudes of RR Lyrae stars as a function of their periods and Stromgren pseudocolor c0 ≡ (u - v)0-(v - b)0. Applying
The absolute magnitude of RRC variables from statistical parallax
We present the first definitive measurement of the absolute magnitude of RR Lyrae c-type variable stars (RRc) determined purely from statistical parallax. We use a sample of 242 RRc variables
The horizontal branch luminosity vs metallicity in M31 globular clusters
Context. Thanks to the outstanding capabilites of the HS T, our current knowledge about the M31 globular clusters (GCs) is similar to our knowledge of the Milky Way GCs in the 1960s-1970s, which set
