The Irish Record Linkage 1864-1913 project aims to create a knowledge base containing historical birth-, marriageand death records encoded into RDF to reconstitute families and create longitudinal health histories. The goal is to interlink the different persons across these records as well as with supplementary datasets that provide additional context. With the help of knowledge engineers who will create the ontologies and set up the platform and the digital archivist who will curate, ingest…

On a Linked Data Platform for Irish Historical Vital Records
TLDR
The semantic architecture is reported on, motivation for the adoption of RDF and Linked Data principles is provided, and the ontology construction process that was influenced by both the requirements of the digital archivists and historians is elaborate.
Historical Data Preservation and Interpretation Pipeline for Irish Civil Registration Records
TLDR
A data preservation and interpretation pipeline supported by a dedicated semantic architecture is developed for the Irish Record Linkage Project 1864-1913 to demonstrate best practices in digital archives, while facilitating innovative new methodologies in historical research.
Creating and Consuming Metadata from Transcribed Historical Vital Records for Ingestion in a Long-Term Digital Preservation Platform - (Short Paper)
TLDR
This paper reports on the creation of Qualified Dublin Core from those triples for ingestion with the digitized register pages in an adequate long-term digital preservation platform and repository and demonstrates how it can distill artifacts from the RDF that is fit for discovery, access, and even reuse via that repository.
