In alpha-chloralose-anesthetized rats, changes in the blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) functional MRI (fMRI) signal (DeltaS/S), and the relative spiking frequency of a neuronal ensemble (Deltanu/nu) were measured in the somatosensory cortex during forepaw stimulation from two different baselines.
