A bstractWe analyse several explicit toric examples of compact K3-fibred Calabi-Yau three-folds. These manifolds can be used for the study of string dualities and are crucial ingredients for the construction of LARGE Volume type IIB vacua with promising applications to cosmology and particle phenomenology. In order to build a phenomenologically viable model, on top of the two moduli corresponding to the base and the K3 fibre, we demand also the existence of two additional rigid divisors: the…
D-branes at del Pezzo singularities: global embedding and moduli stabilisation
A bstractIn the context of type IIB string theory we combine moduli stabilisation and model building on branes at del Pezzo singularities in a fully consistent global compactification. By means of
Explicit de Sitter flux vacua for global string models with chiral matter
A bstractWe address the open question of performing an explicit stabilisation of all closed string moduli (including dilaton, complex structure and Kähler moduli) in fluxed type IIB Calabi-Yau
Chiral global embedding of fibre inflation models
A bstractWe construct explicit examples of fibre inflation models which are globally embedded in type IIB orientifolds with chiral matter on D7-branes and full closed string moduli stabilisation. The
Global embedding of fibre inflation models
A bstractWe present concrete embeddings of fibre inflation models in globally consistent type IIB Calabi-Yau orientifolds with closed string moduli stabilisation. After performing a systematic search
Heterotic moduli stabilisation
A bstractWe perform a systematic analysis of moduli stabilisation for weakly coupled heterotic string theory compactified on internal manifolds which are smooth Calabi-Yau three-folds up to α′
D3/D7 branes at singularities: constraints from global embedding and moduli stabilisation
A bstractIn the framework of type IIB string compactifications on Calabi-Yau orien-tifolds we describe how to construct consistent global embeddings of models with fractional D3-branes and connected
The Standard Model quiver in de Sitter string compactifications
Abstract We argue that the Standard Model quiver can be embedded into compact Calabi-Yau geometries through orientifolded D3-branes at del Pezzo singularities dPn with n ≥ 5 in a framework including
Heterotic Moduli Stabilization
We perform a systematic analysis of moduli stabilization for weakly coupled heterotic string theory compactified on smooth Calabi-Yau three-folds. We focus on both supersymmetric and supersymmetry
de Sitter string vacua from dilaton-dependent non-perturbative effects
A bstractWe consider a novel scenario for modulus stabilisation in IIB string compactifications in which the Kähler moduli are stabilised by a general set-up with two kinds of non-perturbative
Global embeddings for branes at toric singularities
A bstractWe describe how local toric singularities, including the Toric Lego construction, can be embedded in compact Calabi-Yau manifolds. We study in detail the addition of D-branes, including

D-brane Deconstructions in IIB Orientifolds
With model building applications in mind, we collect and develop basic techniques to analyze the landscape of D7-branes in type IIB compact Calabi-Yau orientifolds, in three different pictures:
F-Theory and the Landscape of Intersecting D7-Branes
In this work, the moduli of D7-branes in type IIB orientifold compactifications and their stabilization by fluxes is studied from the perspective of F-theory. In F-theory, the moduli of the D7-branes
On Fluxed Instantons and Moduli Stabilisation in IIB Orientifolds and F-theory
We study the superpotential induced by Euclidean D3-brane instantons carrying instanton flux, with special emphasis on its significance for the stabilisation of Kahler moduli and Neveu-Schwarz axions
Moduli Stabilisation versus Chirality for MSSM like Type IIB Orientifolds
We investigate the general question of implementing a chiral MSSM like D-brane sector in Type IIB orientifold models with complete moduli stabilisation via F-terms induced by fluxes and space-time
General analysis of LARGE Volume Scenarios with string loop moduli stabilisation
We study the topological conditions for general Calabi-Yaus to get a non-supersymmetric AdS exponentially large volume minimum of the scalar potential in flux compactifications of IIB string theory.
Large-volume flux compactifications: Moduli spectrum and D3/D7 soft supersymmetry breaking
We present an explicit calculation of the spectrum of a general class of string models, corresponding to Calabi-Yau flux compactifications with h1,2 > h1,1 > 1 with leading perturbative and
Towards realistic string vacua from branes at singularities
We report on progress towards constructing string models incorporating both realistic D-brane matter content and moduli stabilisation with dynamical low-scale super- symmetry breaking. The general
Systematics of string loop corrections in type IIB Calabi-Yau flux compactifications
We study the behaviour of the string loop corrections to the N = 1 4D supergravity Kahler potential that occur in flux compactifications of IIB string theory on general Calabi-Yau three-folds. We
Monad bundles in heterotic string compactifications
In this paper, we study positive monad vector bundles on complete intersection Calabi-Yau manifolds in the context of E8 × E8 heterotic string compactifications. We show that the class of such
