We study the quantum phase transition between Abelian and non-Abelian phases in an extended Kitaev spin model on the honeycomb lattice, where the periodic boundary condition is applied by placing the lattice on a torus. Our analytical results show that this spin model exhibits a continuous quantum phase transition. Also, we reveal the relationship between bipartite entanglement and the ground-state energy. Our approach directly shows that both the entanglement and the ground-state energy can be…

Quantum-information approach to the quantum phase transition in the Kitaev honeycomb model
The Kitaev honeycomb model with a topological phase transition at zero temperature is studied using the quantum-information method. Based on the exact solution of the ground state, the mutual
Dynamics of fractionalization in quantum spin liquids
We present the theory of dynamical spin response for the Kitaev honeycomb model, obtaining exact results for the structure factor (SF) in gapped and gapless, Abelian and non-Abelian quantum
Quantization of geometric phase with integer and fractional topological characterization in a quantum Ising chain with long-range interaction
The results indicate that the Zak phase is not the proper physical parameter to describe the topological characterization of system with long range interaction and this work provides a new perspective on topological quantization.
Characterization of Topological States via Dual Multipartite Entanglement.
We demonstrate that multipartite entanglement is able to characterize one-dimensional symmetry-protected topological order, which is witnessed by the scaling behavior of the quantum Fisher
Non-Abelian Phase and the Effect of Disorder
Already Kitaev’s original paper (Kitaev 2006) introducing the honeycomb lattice model is mainly concerned with an extended version of the Hamiltonian, Eq. ( 2.1), which gives rise to excitations with
Quantum Fisher information as a signature of the superradiant quantum phase transition
The single-mode Dicke model is well known to undergo a quantum phase transition from the so-called normal phase to the superradiant phase (hereinafter called the ‘superradiant quantum phase
Fidelity spectrum: A tool to probe the property of a quantum phase
Fidelity measures the similarity between two states and is widely adapted by the condensed matter community as a probe of quantum phase transitions in many-body systems. Despite its success in
Evolution of entanglement between qubits ultra-strongly coupling to a quantum oscillator
We investigate the dynamics of two qubits coupled with a quantum oscillator by using the adiabatic approximation method. We take account of the interaction between the qubits and show how the
Signature of topological quantum phase transitions via Wigner-Yanase skew information
We apply the Wigner-Yanase skew information approach to analyze two typical models that exhibit a topological quantum phase transition. Based on the exact solutions of the ground states, the
