A bstractWe demonstrate that the gauged BPS baby Skyrme model with a double vacuum potential allows for phase transitions from a non-solitonic to a solitonic phase, where the latter corresponds to a ferromagnetic liquid. Such a transition can be generated by increasing the external pressure P or by turning on an external magnetic field H. As a consequence, the topological phase where gauged BPS baby skyrmions exist, is a higher density phase. For smaller densities, obtained for smaller values…

Self-dual solitons in a Maxwell-Chern-Simons baby Skyrme model

We have studied the existence de self-dual solitons in a gauged version of the baby Skyrme model in which the gauge field dynamics is governed by the Maxwell-Chern-Simons action. For such a purpose,

Analytic baby skyrmions at finite density

We study the baby Skyrme model in (2+1)-dimensions built on a finite cylinder. To this end, we introduce a consistent ansatz which is able to reduce the complete set of field equations to just one

Self-dual solitons in a generalized Chern-Simons baby Skyrme model

We have shown the existence of self-dual solitons in a type of generalized Chern-Simons baby Skyrme model where the generalized function (depending only in the Skyrme field) is coupled to the

Baryon chemical potential and in-medium properties of BPS skyrmions

We continue the investigation of thermodynamical properties of the Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield (BPS) Skyrme model. In particular, we analytically compute the baryon chemical potential both in the

Analytic crystals of solitons in the four dimensional gauged non-linear sigma model

The first analytic topologically non-trivial solutions in the (3 + 1)-dimensional gauged non-linear sigma model representing multi-solitons at finite volume with manifest ordered structures

Classifying BPS states in supersymmetric gauge theories coupled to higher derivative chiral models

We study N = 1 supersymmetric gauge theories coupled with higher derivative chiral models in four dimensions in the off-shell superfield formalism. We solve the equation of motion for the auxiliary

Crystals of superconducting Baryonic tubes in the low energy limit of QCD at finite density

The low energy limit of QCD admits (crystals of) superconducting Baryonic tubes at finite density. We begin with the Maxwell-gauged Skyrme model in (3 + 1)-dimensions (which is the low energy limit

Pion crystals hosting topologically stable baryons

We construct analytic (3+1)-dimensional inhomogeneous and topologically non-trivial pion systems using chiral perturbation theory. We discuss the effect of isospin asymmetry with vanishing

In this article we employ the BPS Lagrangian method into some submodels from the Skyrme model to obtain their BPS equations. We report that improvements to the original BPS Lagrangian method are

In this paper we study a gauged version of the two dimensional Skyrme model of nuclear physics; the field configurations are couples (u, A), where u:R2→S2\documentclass[12pt]{minimal}

Magnetothermodynamics of BPS baby skyrmions

A bstractThe magnetothermodynamics of skyrmion type matter described by the gauged BPS baby Skyrme model at zero temperature is investigated. We prove that the BPS property of the model is preserved

The gauged BPS baby Skyrme model

The baby Skyrme model is a well-known nonlinear field theory supporting topological solitons in two space dimensions. In the limit where the term quadratic in derivatives (the "sigma model term")

Isospinning baby Skyrmion solutions

We perform full two-dimensional (2D) numerical relaxations of isospinning soliton solutions in the baby Skyrme model in which the global O(3) symmetry is broken by the 2D analogue of the pion mass

Skyrme-Maxwell solitons in 2+1 dimensions.

A gauged (2+1)-dimensional version of the Skyrme model is investigated and it is shown that the electric field of such solutions is necessarily zero.

Spontaneous symmetry breaking in dual-core baby-Skyrmion systems

We introduce a system composed of two (2+1)-dimensional baby-skyrmion models (BSMs) set on parallel planes and linearly coupled by tunneling of fields. This system can be realized in a dual-layer

Solitons in a Baby-Skyrme model with invariance under volume / area preserving diffeomorphisms

We study the properties of soliton solutions in an analog of the Skyrme model in 2+1 dimensions whose Lagrangian contains the Skyrme term and the mass term, but no usual kinetic term. The model

Rotational symmetry breaking in baby Skyrme models

We consider multisolitons with charges 1 ⩽ B ⩽ 5 in the baby Skyrme model for the one-parametric family of potentials U = μ2 (1 − ϕ3)s with 0 < s ⩽ 4. This class of potentials is a generalization of

Broken baby Skyrmions

The baby Skyrme model is a (2+1)-dimensional analogue of the Skyrme model, in which baryons are described by topological solitons. We introduce a version of the baby Skyrme model in which the global

Isospinning Skyrmions

In the Skyrme model atomic nuclei are modelled as quantized soliton solutions in a nonlinear field theory of pions. The mass number is given by the conserved topological charge $B$ of the solitons.

Solitons in a baby-Skyrme model with invariance under area-preserving diffeomorphisms

We study the properties of soliton solutions in an analogue of the Skyrme model in 2+1 dimensions whose Lagrangian contains the Skyrme term and the mass term, but no usual kinetic term. The model
