In this paper we show that certain types of cosmological brane configurations may induce topological inflation. In generic models for topological inflation, there is a strict bound for the potential of the inflaton field. Naively, it seems that these constraints can be removed if inflation starts with a hybrid potential. However, it is difficult to combine topological inflation and hybrid inflation, because of the difference in their initial conditions. In this paper, we show some examples in…
Brane inflation without slow-roll
The scenario of brane inflation without using the conventional slow-roll approximations has been investigated. Based on the mechanism of generating the curvature perturbations at the end of
F-term, D-term and hybrid brane inflation
We study inflation and reheating in models for the brane Universe, considering hybrid brane inflation without tachyon condensation. We expect that some fields that are localized on different branes
Formation of cosmological brane defects
We study cosmological formation of D-term strings, axionic strings, domain walls and Q-balls in braneworld models of the Hanany-Witten type. For the D-term strings, we show that the strings are the
Formation of monopoles and domain walls after brane inflation
We study cosmological defect formation that is induced by brane dynamics after brane inflation. The cosmological defects are corresponding to the branes that have less than three spacial dimensions
String production after angled brane inflation
We describe string production after angled brane inflation. First, we point out that there was a discrepancy in previous discussions. The expected tension of the cosmic string calculated from the
Modulated Inflation (@SUSY08)
We consider cosmological perturbations caused by modulated inflaton velocity. During inflation, the inflaton motion is damped and the velocity is determined by the parameters such as couplings or
Topological Curvatons
Topological defects may play the role of the curvatons. We propose a new mechanism of generating density perturbations from cosmological defects in inflationary models. Spatial fluctuations of the
Generating the curvature perturbation with instant preheating
A new mechanism for generating the curvature perturbation at the end of inflation has been investigated. The dominant contribution to the primordial curvature perturbation may be generated during the
Incidental brane defects
In the models of brane construction, the isometry of a compactified space might be broken by branes. In four-dimensional effective Lagrangian, the breaking of the isometry is seen as the spontaneous

Non-Topological Inflation from Embedded Defects
We discuss a new mechanism of obtaining a period of cosmological inflation in the context of string theory. This mechanism is based on embedded defects which form dynamically on higher dimensional
Nontachyonic brane inflation
We consider non-tachyonic hybrid inflation in the context of the braneworld cosmology. When one considers models for brane inflation, hybrid inflation is a natural consequence of the tachyon
Interesting consequences of brane cosmology
We discuss cosmology in four dimensions within a context of brane-world scenario.Such models can predict chaotic inflation with very low reheat temperature depending on the brane tension. We notice
Post-inflationary brane cosmology
Abstract The brane cosmology has invoked new challenges to the usual Big Bang cosmology. In this paper we present a brief account on thermal history of the post-inflationary brane cosmology. We have
Moduli inflation with large scale structure produced by topological defects.
It is proposed that topological defects, which arise during a phase transition near the end of moduli inflation can provide an alternative source of structure, and will be `fat', yet have the usual evolution by the time of nucleosynthesis.

It is observed that there exists a wide class of models where the field ϕ is forced to stay near the maximum of V (ϕ) for topological reasons, and thus inflation of the " new " type can occur without fine-tuning of the initial state.
Inflation in models with large extra dimensions driven by a bulk scalar field
We discuss inflation in models with large extra dimensions, driven by a bulk scalar field. The brane inflaton is then a single effective field, obtained from the bulk scalar field by scaling. The
F-term, D-term and hybrid brane inflation
We study inflation and reheating in models for the brane Universe, considering hybrid brane inflation without tachyon condensation. We expect that some fields that are localized on different branes
Kaluza-Klein modes in hybrid inflation
When one constructs specific models with a fundamental scale as low as the TeV scale, there arise many difficulties. In this Brief Report we examine hybrid inflation due to bulk scalar fields, which
Dynamics of a large extra dimension inspired hybrid inflation model
In low scale quantum gravity scenarios the fundamental scale of nature can be as low as TeV, in order to address the naturalness of the electroweak scale. A number of difficulties arise in
