Let X be a nonempty topological space and F (X) be the ring of all real-valued functions on X with pointwise addition and multiplication. Continuous members of F (X) is denoted by C(X) and C(X)F = {f ∈ F (X)| f is discontinuous on a finite set}. Let B1(X) be the ring of all real valued Baire one functions on X. Some relations between the subrings C(X), C(X)F , and B1(X) of F (X) are studied and investigated. We show that the socle of B1(X) is the intersection of all free ideals in B1(X). Let X… Expand

Common properties of some function rings on a topological space
For a nonempty topological space X, the ring of all real-valued functions on X with pointwise addition and multiplication is denoted by F (X) and continuous members of F (X) is denoted by C(X). LetExpand

Remarks on the rings of functions which have a finite numb er of di scontinuities
Let X be an arbitrary topological space. F (X) denotes the set of all real-valued functions on X and C(X)F denotes the set of all f ∈ F (X) such that f is discontinuous at most on a finite set. It isExpand
P-spaces and an unconditional closed graph theorem
AbstractLet X be a completely regular (Tychonoff) space, and let C(X), U(X), and B1(X) denote the sets of all real-valued functions on X that are continuous, have a closed graph, and of the firstExpand
On Rings of Baire one functions
This paper introduces the ring of all real valued Baire one functions, denoted by $B_1(X)$ and also the ring of all real valued bounded Baire one functions, denoted by $B_1^*(X)$. Though theExpand
Ideals in $B_1(X)$ and residue class rings of $B_1(X)$ modulo an ideal
This paper explores the duality between ideals of the ring $B_1(X)$ of all real valued Baire one functions on a topological space $X$ and typical families of zero sets, called $Z_B$-filters, on $X$.Expand
On Two Problems of Urysohn
Urysohn [4, p. 290] has considered the problem of determining the most general class of topological spaces in which non-constant real-valued continuous functions exist. He showed that a countableExpand
Spaces in which every dense subset is a Gδ
Abstract A topological space X is called a DGδ-space if every subset of X is a Gδ-set in its closure. In this paper we study DGδ-spaces that contains subspaces in which every dense subset is open andExpand
On Some Properties of Baire-1 Functions
In this paper, we give alternative proofs of some of the properties of Baire-1 functions with respect to the new characterization of Baire-1 functions due to P.Y. Lee, W.K. Tang and D. Zhao. SomeExpand
