Topic: Inguinal Hernia — Crossfire between the meshes

Abstract

Purpouse: Traditional nonabsorbable meshes for surgery of inguinal hernia produce a chronic inflammation that may be an important cause of post-operative chronic pain, Pre-clinical studies of TIGR Matrix Surgical Mesh, a long-term resorbable implant, have shown that this mesh can stimulate the formation of enough strong tissue to resist the intra-abdominal pressure and theoretically get less risk of chronic pain after surgery, The aim of the study was to found the incidence of adverse events as hernia recurrences and post-operative chronic pain.
