The reliability of perceptual voice evaluation is important in voice research and clinical practice. The literature shows that inter-rater and intra-rater reliability in perceptual voice evaluation can be very variable. Kreiman, Gerratt, Kempster, Erman and Berke (1993) proposed a framework that suggested that listeners recall their own internal standard when asked to judge voice qualities.
