Tissue factor (tissue thromboplastin) is the primary initiator of the extrinsic coagulation pathway, triggering a proteolytic cascade when exposed to circulating coagulation factors. In this study, the distribution of tissue factor was examined immunohistochemically in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and control brains.
