Abstract Three new species, Aleurodiscus dextrinoideophyses, A. thailandicus and A. verrucosporus, on bamboos are described and illustrated based on morphological and molecular evidence. Aleurodiscus dextrinoideophyses and A. thailandicus, collected from northern Thailand, possess abundant acanthophyses and small smooth basidiospores, and belong to the A. cerussatus group. While A. dextrinoideophyses is characterized by the dextrinoid acanthophyses, A. thailandicus has yellow acanthophyses…

Species and genera in Aleurodiscus sensu lato as viewed from the Southern Hemisphere

ABSTRACT Phylogenetic relationships of 12 species in Aleurodiscus sensu lato (Stereaceae, Russulales) described from the Patagonian forests of Chile and Argentina were investigated based on sequences

Four new East Asian species of Aleurodiscus with echinulate basidiospores

Phylogenetic relationships of these four new species of Aleurodiscus sensu lato with echinulate basidiospores are inferred from analyses of a combined dataset consisting of three genetic markers, viz. 28S, nuc rDNA ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 (ITS), and a portion of the translation elongation factor 1-alpha gene, TEF1.

Fungal diversity notes 929–1035: taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions on genera and species of fungi

The present study describes 12 new genera, 74 new species, three new combinations, two reference specimens, a re-circumscription of the epitype, and 15 records of sexual-asexual morph connections, new hosts and new geographical distributions.

Phylogenetic analyses of Aleurodiscus s.l. and allied genera

Phylogenetic analyses suggest that there has been homoplasy in most of the characters that have been used to subdivide Aleurodiscus s.l., including spore ornamentation, hymenial color, hyphal septation, clamp connections, acanthophyses, and phenoloxidase reactions.

Neoaleurodiscus fujii, a new genus and new species found at the timberline in Japan

Morphological study and phylogenetic analysis based on sequence data derived from LSU nrDNA indicated that Neoaleuro Discus is separate from other segregate genera from Aleurodiscus s.l.s, but these genera have warted or spiny basidiospores.

Perspectives in the new Russulales

The Russulales is one of 12 major lineages recently elucidated by molecular sequence data in the homobasidiomycetes, containing a remarkable variety of sporophore forms from smooth, poroid, hydnoid, lamellate, to labyrinthoid and hymenophore configurations.

Global diversity and molecular systematics of Wrightoporia s.l. (Russulales, Basidiomycota)

According to phylogenetic and morphological evidence, species previously treated in Wrightoporia were transferred to Amylonotus, Amylosporus and the new genera, or were retained as members of Wrightopori s.l.

Phylogenetic relationships of russuloid basidiomycetes with emphasis on aphyllophoralean taxa

Phylogenetic relationships among russuloid basidiomycetes were investigated using sequence data from the nuclear 5.8S, ITS2 and large-subunit rDNA genes and results suggest that gloeocystidia are a synapomorphy for taxa within the rRussuloid clade while the amyloidity of spores is inconsistent.

Hymenochaetaceae (Basidiomycota) in China

An account of the Chinese species of Hymenochaetaceae based on most recent phylogenetic analysis is presented and nuclear large subunit sequences from some typical species were selected to reconstruct their phylogeny.

The phylogenetic distribution of resupinate forms across the major clades of mushroom‐forming fungi (Homobasidiomycetes)

Phylogenetic relationships of resupinate Homobasidiomycetes (Corticiaceae s. lat. and others) were studied using ribosomal DNA sequences from a broad sample of res upinate and nonresupinate taxa to support monophyly of the eight major clades of Homob as well as independent lineages corresponding to the Gloeophyllum clade, corticioid clade and Jaapia argillacea.

The genus Aleurodiscus(Basidiomycotina)
