Wastewater stabilization ponds (WSPs) are designed using simple models (e.g., continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR), plug flow) and/or expensive pilot-scale systems. In this study, three-dimensional coupled hydrodynamic and biogeochemical models (Deflt3D-WAQ) were used to evaluate the ability of the model to reproduce circulation and water quality conditions in an Amherstview Wastewater Treatment Plant WSP.
