A new class of thermoresponsive random polyurethanes is successfully synthesized and characterized. Poly(ethylene glycol) diol (Mn = 1500 Da) and 2,2-dimethylolpropionic acid are reacted with isophorone diisocyanate in the presence of methane sulfonic acid catalyst.
