We study thermodynamic properties of weakly interacting Bose gases above the transition temperature of Bose–Einstein condensation in the framework of a thermodynamic perturbation theory. Cases of local and non-local interactions between particles are analyzed both analytically and numerically. We obtain and compare the temperature dependencies for the chemical potential, entropy, pressure, and specific heat to those of noninteracting gases. The results set reliable benchmarks for thermodynamic…

Thermodynamics of dilute Bose gases: Beyond mean-field theory for binary mixtures of Bose-Einstein condensates

We study the thermodynamic properties of binary Bose mixtures, by developing a beyond mean-field Popov theory which properly includes the effects of quantum and thermal fluctuations in both the

Measurement of the Canonical Equation of State of a Weakly Interacting 3D Bose Gas.

TLDR
The experimental results provide the canonical description of pressure as a function of the specific volume, emphasizing the dramatic deviations from the ideal Bose gas behavior caused by interactions.

Chemical potentials and thermodynamic characteristics of ideal Bose- and Fermi-gases in the region of quantum degeneracy

Calculations of chemical potentials for ideal monatomic gases with Bose-Einstein and Fermi-Dirac statistics as functions of temperature, across the temperature region that is typical for the

A New Approach to Quantum-Statistical Mechanics

A new method of calculating the grand partition function of many-body system is developed, adopting extensively the techniques of calculus in quantum field theory. It is shown that the grand

Theory of the weakly interacting Bose gas

This article reviews recent advances in the theory of the three-dimensional dilute homogeneous Bose gas at zero and finite temperature. Effective-field-theory methods are used to formulate a

Behavior of heat capacity of an attractive Bose-Einstein condensate approaching collapse

We report the calculation of heat capacity of an attractive Bose-Einstein condensate, with the number N of bosons increasing and eventually approaching the critical number N{sub cr} for collapse,

Re-examining the quadratic approximation in theory of a weakly interacting Bose gas with condensate: the role of nonlocal interaction potentials

We derive and analyze the coupled equations of quadratic approximation of the Bogoliubov model for a weakly interacting Bose gas. The first equation determines the condensate density as a variational
