Abstract We study the phase structure of QCD at finite temperature within a Polyakov-loop extended quark–meson model. Such a model describes the chiral as well as the confinement-deconfinement dynamics. In the present investigation, based on the approach and results put forward in [1] , [2] , [3] , [4] , both matter and glue fluctuations are included. We present results for the order parameters as well as some thermodynamic observables and find very good agreement with recent results from… Expand

Exploring the Phase Structure and Thermodynamics of QCD
We put forward a Polyakov-loop extended quark meson model, where matter as well as glue fluctuations are taken into account, cf. [1]. The latter are included via a Polyakov-loop potential. UsuallyExpand
Locating the critical end point of QCD
Abstract We summarize recent results for the phase structure of QCD at finite temperature and light-quark chemical potential for N f = 2 + 1 and N f = 2 + 1 + 1 dynamical quark flavors. We discussExpand
Effects of renormalizing the chiral SU(2) quark-meson model
We investigate the restoration of chiral symmetry at finite temperature in the SU(2) quark meson model where the mean field approximation is compared to the renormalized version for quarks andExpand
Shocks and quark-meson scatterings at large density
We discuss the phase structure of the two-flavour quark-meson model including quantum, thermal, density and critical fluctuations with the functional renormalisation group. This study combines twoExpand
Phase structure of QCD for heavy quarks

Equation of state and phase diagram of strongly interacting matter
Abstract In this work progress on the phase structure and the dynamics of strongly correlated matter with continuum methods is reviewed. First we discuss the set-up of functional approaches toExpand

Phase structure of two-flavor QCD at finite chemical potential.
TLDR
The analytical and numerical results suggest a close relation between the chiral and the confinement phase transition and the interrelation of quark confinement and chiral symmetry breaking is analyzed. Expand
Phases of QCD: lattice thermodynamics and a field theoretical model
