In AdS space the black hole horizon can be a hypersurface with a positive, zero, or negative constant curvature, resulting in different horizon topology. Thermodynamics and stability of black holes in AdS spaces are quite different for different horizon curvatures. In this paper we study thermodynamics and stability of hyperbolic charged black holes with negative constant curvature horizon in the grand canonical ensemble and canonical ensemble, respectively. They include hyperbolic Reissner… Expand
Born-Infeld black holes in (A)dS spaces
We study some exact solutions in a D(greater than or equal to4)-dimensional Einstein-Born-Infeld theory with a cosmological constant. These solutions are asymptotically de Sitter or anti-de Sitter,Expand
Topological black holes dressed with a conformally coupled scalar field and electric charge
Electrically charged solutions for gravity with a conformally coupled scalar field are found in four dimensions in the presence of a cosmological constant. If a quartic self-interaction term for theExpand
Phase transitions of hyperbolic black holes in anti-de Sitter space
We find analytic solutions of hyperbolic black holes with scalar hair in AdS space, and they do not have spherical or planar counterparts. The system is obtained by taking a neutral limit of anExpand
Analytic topological hairy dyonic black holes and thermodynamics
We present and discuss a new family of topological hairy dyonic black hole solutions in asymptotically anti–de Sitter (AdS) space. The coupled Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar gravity system, that carriesExpand
THERMODYNAMIC GEOMETRY AND CRITICAL BEHAVIOR OF BLACK HOLES
Based on the observations that there exists an analogy between the Reissner–Nordstrom–Anti-de Sitter (RN–AdS) black holes and the van der Waals–Maxwell liquid-gas system, in which a correspondence ofExpand
Thermodynamics of the Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet anti-de Sitter black hole with higher derivative gauge corrections

Higher derivative corrections to near-extremal black holes in type IIB supergravity
We discuss string theory α′ corrections to charged near-extremal black 3-branes/black holes in type IIB supergravity. We find that supersymmetric global AdS5×S5 geometry is not corrected to leadingExpand
Thermodynamics of Black Holes: Semi-Classical Approaches and Beyond
This thesis is focussed to study various aspects of black hole physics. Our approach is a semi-classical type, where the spacetime geometry of black holes is considered to be classical but the fieldsExpand
Ricci flat rotating black branes with a conformally invariant Maxwell source
We consider Einstein gravity coupled to an U(1) gauge field for which the density is given by a power of the Maxwell Lagrangian. In d-dimensions the action of Maxwell field is shown to enjoy theExpand
Critical Phenomena in Higher Curvature Charged AdS Black Holes
In this paper, we have studied the critical phenomena in higher curvature charged AdS black holes. We have considered Lovelock-Born-Infeld-AdS black hole as an example. The thermodynamics of theExpand

A Note on Thermodynamics of Black Holes in Lovelock Gravity
Abstract The Lovelock gravity consists of the dimensionally extended Euler densities. The geometry and horizon structure of black hole solutions could be quite complicated in this gravity, however,Expand
