The active-site metal ion and the associated ligand amino acids in the NADP-linked, tetrameric enzyme Thermoanaerobacter brockii alcohol dehydrogenase (TBADH) were characterized by atomic absorption spectroscopy analysis and site-directed mutagenesis.
