We propose a thermal interpretation of the Schwinger effect for charged spinless scalars and spin-1/2 fermions in an extremal and near-extremal Reissner–Nordström (RN) black hole. The emission of charges has the distribution with an effective temperature determined by the Davies–Unruh temperature for accelerating charges by the electric field and the scalar curvature of [Formula: see text] from the near-horizon geometry [Formula: see text]. We find a charge bound for the extremal micro-black…

Schwinger effect in near-extremal charged black holes in high dimensions

We study the Schwinger effect in near-extremal nonrotating black holes in an arbitrary D(≥4)-dimensional asymptotically flat and (A)dS space. Using the near-horizon geometry AdS2×SD-2 of

Dyon Production from Near-Extremal Kerr-Newman-(Anti-)de Sitter Black Holes

The near-horizon region of the near-extremal dyonic Kerr-Newman (KN) black hole in the (A)dS space has a warped AdS geometry, which leads to the exact solutions of charges in terms of the known

Charge emission from near-extremal charged black holes

Using the symmetry of the near-horizon geometry and applying quantum field theory of a complex scalar field, we study the spontaneous pair production of charged scalars from near-extremal rotating,

Pair Production in Near Extremal Kerr-Newman Black Holes

The spontaneous pair production of charged scalars in a near extremal Kerr-Newman (KN) black hole is analytically studied. It is shown that the existence condition for the pair production is

Schwinger Effect, Hawking Radiation, and Unruh Effect

We revisit the Schwinger effect in de Sitter, anti-de Sitter spaces and charged black holes, and explore the interplay between quantum electrodynamics and the quantum gravity effect at one-loop

Schwinger effect from near-extremal black holes in (A)dS space

We study the Schwinger effect in near-extremal Reissner-Nordstr\"om black holes with electric and/or magnetic charges in (anti-)de Sitter (AdS) space. The formula for the Schwinger effect takes a

Scalar Dyon Production In Near Extremal Kerr-Newman Black Holes

The pair production of charged scalar dyons is analytically studied in near-extremal Kerr-Newman (KN) dyonic black holes. The pair production rate and its thermal interpretation are given. Moreover,

Scalar QED Action Density and Schwinger Pair Production in (A)dS 2

We review the one-loop effective action in scalar QED and the Schwinger effect in a uniform electric field in a two-dimensional (anti-) de Sitter space. The Schwinger effect has a thermal

Pair production of scalars around near-extremal Kerr-Sen black holes

We investigate the charged scalar pair production near the horizon of a near-extremal Kerr-Sen black holes. The condition for pair production to occur has relation to the violation of

Quantum effects for the Dirac field in a Reissner–Nordström–AdS black hole background

The behavior of a charged massive Dirac field on a Reissner–Nordström–AdS black hole background is investigated. We first analyze the problem of the essential self-adjointness of the Dirac

Pair Production in Near Extremal Kerr-Newman Black Holes

The spontaneous pair production of charged scalars in a near extremal Kerr-Newman (KN) black hole is analytically studied. It is shown that the existence condition for the pair production is

Spontaneous Pair Production in Reissner-Nordstrom Black Holes

We investigate the spontaneous pair production---including the Schwinger mechanism and the Hawking thermal radiation---of charged scalar particles from the near-horizon region of a (near) extremal

Massive Dirac particles on the background of charged de-Sitter black hole manifolds

We consider the behavior of massive Dirac fields on the background of a charged de Sitter black hole. All black hole geometries are taken into account, including the Reissner-Nordstr\"om-de Sitter

We revisit the Schwinger effect in de Sitter, anti-de Sitter spaces and charged black holes, and explore the interplay between quantum electrodynamics and the quantum gravity effect at one-loop

Schwinger Effect, Hawking Radiation and Gauge-Gravity Relation

We present a unified picture for the Schwinger effect and the Hawking radiation and address the gauge-gravity relation and the dS-AdS duality issue at the one-loop level. We propose a thermal

Probing the Vacuum Structure of Spacetime

We explore the question of how to probe the vacuum structure of space time by a massive scalar field through interaction with background gravitons. Using the Γ-regularization for the in-/out-state

Spinor Particle Creation in Near Extremal Reissner-Nordstrom Black Holes

The pair production of spinor particles, which can be captured by the solution of the Dirac equation with an appropriate boundary condition, in charged black holes is investigated. We obtain the

Schwinger effect in 4D de Sitter space and constraints on magnetogenesis in the early universe

A bstractWe investigate pair creation by an electric field in four-dimensional de Sitter space. The expectation value of the induced current is computed, using the method of adiabatic regularization.

Notes on black-hole evaporation

This paper examines various aspects of black-hole evaporation. A two-dimensional model is investigated where it is shown that using fermion-boson cancellation on the stress-energy tensor reduces the
