Thermal behaviour of diclofenac, diclofenac sodium and sodium bicarbonate compositions

title={Thermal behaviour of diclofenac, diclofenac sodium and sodium bicarbonate compositions},
author={Irene Pasquali and Ruggero Bettini and Ferdinando Giordano},
journal={Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry},
This work aims to investigate the thermal behaviour of diclofenac, diclofenac sodium, and NaHCO3 both as single components and binary mixtures. In particular, the melting point and latent heat of fusion binary diagrams of the diclofenac sodium/diclofenac mixtures at different mole fraction compositions were investigated in order to gain information about the thermal behaviour of their solid mixtures. A good agreement between liquidus curves, calculated by the Schroeder-Van Laar equation from…
Thermodynamics of potassium diclofenac salt aqueous solutions at various temperatures
Solution and dilution enthalpies of aqueous solutions of potassium diclofenac salt (K_DC) were measured by an isoperibolic calorimeter at 298.15 and 318.5 K. Heat capacities of the solutions with
Phase diagram and dissolution studies of the fenofibrate–acetylsalicylic acid system
Enhancement of the dissolution rate of poorly soluble compounds through the formation of drug–drug eutectics was investigated using fenofibrate and acetylsalicylic acid. Solid–liquid equilibria in
Mechanism of Supersaturation Suppression in Dissolution Process of Acidic Drug Salt.
Results suggest that the LLPS (and subsequent crystallization) of DCF FA on the surface ofDCF Na particles rather than in the bulk medium is more likely to have suppressed the supersaturation from DCF Na.
A DSC and Raman spectroscopic study of microspheres preparedwith polar cosolvents by different techniques
A study was made of the possibilities of gradually decreasing the concentration of the toxic organic solvent in the process of microsphere preparation. Ammonio methacrylate copolymer-based
Extemporaneous printing of diclofenac orodispersible films for pediatrics
Hot-melt printing can be suitable to prepare palatable ODF loaded with bitter thermosensitive drugs, and the drug content, impurity A, and dissolution profiles remained superimposable.
Evaluation of phenomena occurring during the preparation of matrix granules by the hot melt technique
The aim of this study was to evaluate the applicability of hot melt granulation for the formulation of a pH-sensitive intelligent tablet containing heat- and moisture-sensitive components. An
Formulation And In-vitro/in-vivo Evaluation Of Oral Diclofenac Sodium And Diclofenac Potassium Liposomal Dosage Forms
The current study was aimed to develop stable and reproducible liposomal formulations of Diclofenac sodium (DFS) and Diclofenac potassium (DFP) using purified soya lecithin (PSL) and purified egg

Thermal degradation and melting point determination of diclofenac
The thermal behaviour of Diclofenac was investigated using Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Hot Stage Microscopy, and Thermogravimetric Analysis. A discrepancy was observed between the melting
Interaction of pharmaceutical hydrates with supercritical CO2
The aim of this work was to study the solubility in supercritical CO2 of the hydrated phase of three model drugs, namely theophylline, carbamazepine, and diclofenac sodium, in comparison with the
Diclofenac/N-(2-hydroxyethyl)pyrrolidine: a new salt for an old drug.
The mild detergent properties of DHEP were confirmed by the solubilization of lecithin and the formation of mixed micelles with bile salts: these properties appear very interesting in developing new pharmaceutical forms containing DHEP, as a chemical form for the delivery of the active principle diclofenac.
Preparation and characterisation of a range of diclofenac salts.
Determination by DSC of solid–liquid diagrams for polyaromatic – 4,4’diaminodiphenylmethane binary systems
AbstractDiamines are an important group of compounds in different fields of industry and particularly in the synthesis of a number of polymers. In this work, study of binary solid-liquid equilibriums
pH‐Solubility Relationship and Partition Coefficients for some Anti‐Inflammatory Arylaliphatic Acids
pka‐values of some anti‐inflammatory arylaliphatic acids were measured potentiometrically in DMSO/H2O (80% w/w). The values were confirmed by assessing the solubility of the acids as a function of
A view and a review of the melting of alkali metal halide crystals
SummaryA representational model, proposed to account for the physical changes that accompany the melting of alkali halides, was described in Part 1 [1]. The liquid is portrayed as undergoing
A view and a review of melting of alkali metal halide crystals
AbstractTheoretical models for the melting of solids are inadequate because relatively little is known about the structures of liquids formed and the factors that control this phase transformation.
