BACKGROUND Some clinical data have shown that glatiramer acetate (Copaxone), a synthetic amino acid polymer empirically found to suppress experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE), an animal model of MS, might help improve the outcome of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).
